The recent parish bulletins are now posted for St. Rose of Lima and for our partner parishes in Alexander and Pulaski Counties.
Here are the October 20 and October 27 bulletin announcements for St. Rose of Lima parish, excluding announcements that are already outdated:
WELCOMING NEW CHURCH MEMBERS: We welcome all new members who are considering joining our St. Rose of Lima Church, Metropolis. Pope Francis is reminding us that the Church of God must be a community that is ever welcoming all to encounter and experience the love and presence of JESUS the Risen LORD of this church community!
Collection – Archdiocese for the Military Services – Sunday, October 27th: This weekend our parish will take up the collection for the Archdiocese for the Military Services (AMS). The guiding mission of the AMS is to provide the sacraments and the re-affirming Word of Christ to the men and women serving in the armed forces, patients in VA Medical Centers, civilians working for the federal government beyond U.S. borders, and the families of these populations. To provide these services they need your help – the AMS receives NO federal funding.
Parish Office Closed: The parish office will be closed Thursday, November 7 through
Monday, November 18. Sabrina, our parish secretary, will be going to Jacmel, Haiti to serve at an orphanage there with over 80 orphans from the 2010 Earthquake; many of them lost one or both of their parents. Please keep Sabrina and her team in your prayers during this time. Thank you!

Cleaning St. Patrick Church: Parish council members and volunteers will meet at St. Patrick Church on Wednesday evening, October 30 at 6:00 p.m. to clean the upper church. The upper church needs to be cleaned from the painting work and for the upcoming cooler weather and holiday seasons so that Mass can be celebrated there. If you would like to be of service to the parish, please try to find time to come down for an evening of dusting and vacuuming. The more help there is, the quicker and easier the job will be. Thank you for your help.
