Here are the September 8 bulletin announcements for St. Rose of Lima parish:

Christian Youth Spreading the Gospel – Metropolis City: St. Rose Youth (CYO) and the youth from other Churches in Metropolis are invited to a fun event open to all 7th-12th graders, a time for free fun, games, prayer, and live Christian music, at the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), Metropolis, on Sunday Sept. 22nd, 2013 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM.

PSR Teacher Needed: We are in need of a teacher for our Parish School of Religion (PSR) this year. Our children’s religious education is a very important part of our church since we want our church to continue growing. Please contact Marilyn Barfield if you are willing to teach. Christ loves you!

Krypton House Volunteer Needed: We are in need of someone willing to stop by Krypton House to pick up one to two residents for weekend Masses. This is the only means of transportation that these parishioners have to get to Mass, so if you able to help, please contact Mark Thompson, or let one of the trustees know. Thanks!

FAITH IN THE MARKETPLACE: Kristin Kaufman – St. Mary, Mound City and four other recipients have received the 2013 Faith in the Marketplace Recognition. Kristin has been recognized as a business leader who shares her faith in the marketplace. She is one of six people in the Belleville Diocese chosen by the Faith in the Marketplace Committee to be recognized. Kristin and the other nominees will be recognized at a special reception and dinner to be held on Saturday, September 14, 2013 at St. Nicholas Parish in O’Fallon. At that time they will receive a gift in recognition of their business values. Congratulations Kristin!

KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS MEMBERS will have their next meeting on Monday, September 9, at St. Raphael Hall starting at 5:30 PM.

ST. PATRICK PARISH COUNCIL MEETING will be on Wednesday, September 11, starting at 6:00 PM.
