Bulletins for June 30 and July 7, 2013 are now posted for St. Rose of Lima, as well as for the parishes in Alexander and Pulaski Counties.
Here are the bulletin announcements for St. Rose of Lima parish:
HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY – July 4th
GOD BLESS AMERICA – “May the LORD GOD bless you and keep you. The LORD let his face shine on you and be gracious to you. The LORD look upon you kindly, and give you his peace – Amen!”
Numbers 6:22-242013 Vacation Bible School: Mark your calendars now to join us for Vacation Bible School this year “Where Kids Stand Strong for God!” The date is set for July 21–24th. We will be meeting each night at Lutheran Church of the Cross from 5:15 – 8:00 p.m. for a Bible adventure, games and science experiments, in addition to song and praise. A light meal will be served on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday nights. As an outreach service project, we are collecting canned goods (vegetables, fruit, and beans) for At the River Ministries. Watch for updates in the church bulletin.
At the River Ministry: If you would be interested in helping plan/prepare/serve a meal to those in need in our community 1 time a year, please sign the sheet at the back of church. At the River Ministry is a group of churches in Massac County that serves a hot meal on the 4th Monday of each month to anyone who has a need. The meals are served at Dorothy Miller park starting at 5:00, followed by a time of worship. It is a great opportunity for us to serve others in mind, body and spirit. If you have questions, please contact Caroline Korte.
Mark your Calendars: On Saturday, August 24, we will celebrate the Feast Day of St Rose with a pot luck supper BEFORE mass. The pot luck will begin at 4:30 and conclude prior to mass at 6:30. The church will provide the meat and a sign-up sheet will be placed in the back of church for side dishes and desserts. Please plan on attending!
COPE needs Saltine Crackers: This month COPE is asking for Saltine Crackers. Don Harper reported a record breaking number of families needed help through COPE’s food pantry last month. The need in our community is great, so please give generously as you are able.
