December 8 – Holy Day of Obligation

Saturday, December 8 is the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary, which is a holy day of obligation. Mass will be celebrated at 6:30 PM at St. Rose of Lima.

Please note that the Saturday evening Mass on December 8 fulfills either the holy day obligation or the Sunday obligation, but not both. If anyone wants the nitty-gritty details, please see this blog post by Dr. Edward Peters (a professor of canon law at Sacred Heart Major Seminary in Detroit).
